- The original 6 September 2026 exam date has been postponed. CBSE reopened the online application window from 25 August to 1 September 2026, giving candidates who had missed the earlier deadline a fresh opportunity to apply.
- This step follows a Supreme Court direction emphasizing that eligible candidates should get a reasonable opportunity to acquire the prescribed Teacher Eligibility Test qualification.
- Candidates who had already applied before the original deadline do not need to reapply — their applications carry forward.
- As of this update, CBSE has not released a revised exam date on the official portal, ctet.nic.in.
New: Correction Window Open Till 10 September 2026
CBSE has opened a correction window for candidates who applied during the reopened application period (25 August – 1 September 2026), allowing them to correct details in their submitted form. The deadline for this correction window is 10 September 2026 — if you applied in the reopened window and need to fix any detail (photo, signature, category, exam city preference, etc.), log in to ctet.nic.in and complete your correction before this date closes.
A Word of Caution
Several aggregator sites are currently circulating a specific "revised date" (including one claiming 9 October 2026) as if it were officially confirmed. We checked ctet.nic.in directly, and as of now, no such notice exists on the official site. Treat any specific date you see elsewhere as unverified until it appears as a public notice on ctet.nic.in itself.
