Always check the exact post code (A, B, C...) in the official notification for the precise qualification required for that specific post.
Age Limit
18 to 42 years, as reckoned on 1 July 2026 — meaning you must be born between 2 July 1984 and 1 July 2008. Two posts (Junior Assistant at the High Court Advocate General's office, Junior Assistant at the Tourism Development Board and Judicial/Legal Academy, and Store Keeper at the Judicial Academy) require a minimum age of 21 years.
Age relaxation: SC/ST/OBC candidates get 5 years, Divyang (PwD) candidates get 10 years, dependents of freedom fighters get 5 years, and ex-servicemen get relaxation as per the applicable rules.
Exam Pattern
- 100 objective (MCQ) questions, 100 marks, 2 hours duration.
- Negative marking: ¼ mark deducted per wrong answer; no penalty for unattempted questions.
- Minimum qualifying marks: 45% for Unreserved/OBC/EWS, 35% for SC/ST.
- Syllabus: General Hindi (20 marks), General Intelligence & Reasoning + History, Geography, Polity, Economics, Current Affairs, Computer Basics (40 marks), and General Knowledge of Uttarakhand (40 marks).
- A separate qualifying-only typing test (Hindi, 4000 KDPH) follows for shortlisted candidates on relevant posts.
Application Fee
| Category | Fee |
|---|---|
| Unreserved / OBC | ₹300 |
| SC / ST / EWS | ₹150 |
| Divyang (PwD), all categories | ₹150 |
| Orphan | No fee |
Payment is accepted only via credit/debit card, net banking, or UPI.
Selection Process
- Written competitive exam (objective type, 100 marks) — merit list prepared based on this score.
- Qualifying typing test for the relevant post (does not add to merit, only qualifying).
- Document verification of category, education, and experience certificates for shortlisted candidates.
If two candidates score equally, the older candidate ranks higher; if age also ties, English alphabetical order of the name decides.
How to Apply
Apply online only through the official UKSSSC website: sssc.uk.gov.in. The process has 5 steps — registration with Aadhaar, filling educational/personal details, uploading photo/signature/thumb impression, fee payment, and printing your application. Don't pay any third party claiming to fill or submit your form — this is meant to be done directly by the candidate.
Why This Matters for CTET/UTET Aspirants
If you're preparing for teaching exams but want a parallel government-job option that only requires Intermediate pass (not a full degree), this UKSSSC recruitment is worth a look — especially if you already have decent typing speed. Just make sure you check the exact post code's eligibility before applying, since requirements vary post to post.
