CTET Eligibility Criteria

Qualification, age limit, and paper-wise eligibility requirements for CTET.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must have completed Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education, or a Bachelor's Degree with a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education, along with other equivalent qualifications specified by NCTE.

Age Limit

CBSE has not prescribed any upper age limit for appearing in CTET. There is also no restriction on the number of attempts a candidate can make.

Paper 1 Eligibility

Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed/appearing in a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed), OR Graduation with a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.

Paper 2 Eligibility

Graduation with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education, OR Graduation with at least 50% marks and a B.Ed degree, OR Senior Secondary with 50% marks and a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).

Nationality

Indian nationals; no age bar has been fixed by CBSE for appearing in CTET.
